The tuning beads can be pulled down to increase the tension of the drumhead, increasing the pitch. Each of our Pocket Drums is made from raw materials in our workshop in Eureka Springs, AR. We cut the staves of the drum, glue them together, then sand them and cut the bearing edge. We roll the rings from steel wire to fit the drum, wrap them, and tie them with lacing. We use goatskin and calfskin heads for our drums, with a good number of them dyed various shades of color. \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThese drums are meant to be played with the fingertips, cradled and supported by one arm.
