Then we punch holes in the drumhead. We soak the head in solution, apply the dye, then thread the steel ring through the holes. Once the ring is threaded it is very delicately welded with the head in place. The head is then placed on the shell, tied in place and allowed to dry. Once the head is dry the inside ring is positioned and the lacing and tuning beads are added.
